Born from a passion to support mothers wellbeing
At The Kindred Co., we’re all about creating a safe, relaxed and welcoming space for those navigating motherhood - whether you’re stepping into it for the first time or doing it all again.
Founded by Liz and Ginny, local doulas from Colchester, who share the same vision for creating a space for mothers with a focus on connection, conversation and community. A space where you can be open and honest, celebrate the highs, talk through the harder days and learn a little something along the way too.
The Kindred co. is about YOU. Your wellbeing, your identity, your village and your experience of motherhood. A space to slow down, exhale and be looked after too.
Meet Ginny...
Hi, I'm Ginny.
I'm a mum to two girls, a postnatal doula, infant feeding coach and baby massage instructor.
Before becoming a mum, I spent plenty of time preparing for birth. But like many parents, I gave very little thought to what life would actually be like once my baby arrived, even when baby two was on the way! I was certainly not ready for the huge emotional, physical and practical adjustment that came with the arrival of a new baby.
While there was so much joy in those early months, there were also times when I felt overwhelmed, isolated and unsure of myself. Looking back, I realise that I needed support, reassurance and people around me who understood what I was going through.
That experience sparked a passion for supporting other mothers during one of the biggest transitions of their lives. It ultimately led me to leave my previous career and train to work with new parents.
Today, I have the privilege of supporting families through those early months and beyond. I love one to one time as well as creating spaces where mothers can connect, feel heard and realise they're not alone in the challenges and joys of parenthood.
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, enjoying a dance class or two, and trying to keep with the neverending school and life admin.
I believe mothers deserve support, community and care too - and that's what continues to inspire the work I do every day.

Meet Liz...
Hi, I’m Liz, a birth and postnatal doula, hypnobirthing teacher and mum to two teens!
Motherhood has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, but it has also been one of the most challenging and transformative experiences I have ever faced. Like many women, I discovered that becoming a parent brought emotions and challenges I had never anticipated. There were moments of joy, wonder and deep love, but also times when I felt overwhelmed, uncertain and in need of support.
Looking back, I can see how much of a difference it would have made to have someone by my side who could offer reassurance, information and a listening ear without judgement. That realisation stayed with me and gradually became the driving force behind the work I do today.
Before becoming a doula, I spent 16 years working as a nurse. I loved building relationships with people and supporting them through important moments in their lives. However, over time I found myself longing for a way of working that allowed me to offer the kind of personalised, compassionate support that I felt families truly deserved.
When I discovered the role of a doula, everything clicked into place. It brought together my experience, knowledge and passion for supporting families, while allowing me to provide the compassionate, personalised care I believe every woman deserves.
As both a mother and a doula, I understand the importance of feeling seen, heard and supported, and it is a privilege to walk alongside families through such a transformative chapter of their lives.
